The purpose of the Association of Stylists & Barbers is to raise awareness, educate, build confidence, fundraise for charitable causes, and give back to the community through the time and talent of professional stylists and barbers.
The simple act of getting a haircut can save a life, give a child new confidence, or even help clean up an oil spill. Dave Alexander, Men’s Hair Expert

The Association of Stylists and Barbers, Inc., a community of stylists and barbers across the states are coming together to make a change for the better. We have a lot to be proud of! Elaine Lord, Founder, TASB
TASB, a not-for-profit corporation since 2008 has grown by leaps and bounds. I can’t help but to reflect on all our achievements since our first TASB Awards Celebration in the Fall of 2008. Recognition with Style, our magazine, has grown with cutting-edge content that covers each year’s accomplishments. With the success of the magazine, I was ready to do more, not only for the charities that are dear to my heart, but also the stylists and barbers in our community who have helped make my dream a success. TASB which is dedicated to raising funds for charitable organizations through the support and services of stylists and barbers worldwide, will support members through industry meetings, continuous education, and creating a number of events,(Hair Raising Events), that will be planned and voted on throughout the year by our members. As I continue to look back at our major milestones, perhaps the one Hair Raising Event I am most excited about is our TASB Cut-A-Thon for Autism. Stylists, Doshia Harris and Manasha Calhoun brought this event to our meetup (2011) and our vote to help Autism organizations was unanimous. This annual event is held the weekend before Labor Day, dedicated artists volunteer their professional time and talent to give haircuts at half-price to raise funds for autism-related causes-and in doing so bring awareness to this condition.TASB will distribute several $2500 grants to various autism organizations selected by TASB volunteers.
Each year I wonder how many stylists/barbers will come together, how many haircuts will be given, how many “Big Checks” will be distributed. I look forward to seeing how you bring our mission to your community and make a change for the better.
