How awesome it is to see how TASB is growing across the country and along the way meeting others with the same desire, to help our communities! SeveralTASB volunteers hung out during the Juneteenth festivities in Atlanta. We were creating awareness for our TASB Cut-a-Thon for Autism, August 29 & 30 and that we did!! Dawn King and I met the media crew for the festival. Among them was a very talented lady, Valerie Fletcher. She knows a group of stylists and barbers that have an organization similar to ours, they are located in Vancouver Washington. Well with todays tech stuff and her savvy talent she had to get us connected. I was heading to the Las Vegas hair show the next week and was so excited to be able to connect in person with Derek and Regina Thompason, founders of Hands of Favor whose purpose is to build relationships which in turn allow us to hear the stories of those we serve, and from there we can utilize the resources of our Friends and Partners to connect the people with the necessary services that will help them get their lives back on track to become responsible, productive members of their respective communities with a desire to pay it forward. Thus, everyone benefits perpetually.
To meet our colleagues who use there time and talent for “Doing Good” in their community is powerful. I can’t wait to see what takes place in our future as TASB and Hands of Favor join forces. Our stories will be told as we keep readers informed through our social media sites including Facebook, blogs, and in our upcoming issue of Recognition with Style magazine, We Cut For Good!!
